End Of Year Deals + Youtube Progress

I don't have a whole lot to report this month, so this should be short(ish).

Things are always a little crazy this time of year, especially for families with young kids, but as I said last month, I'm trying to take it slow and enjoy the season.

I'm sure things will change quite a bit as the kids get older, so I don't want to miss this time when they are so excited about presents and decorating and baking with their grandmother and holiday gatherings and the first snow of the year (which we just got last weekend, and which will be gone by tomorrow, but which they were able to sled and snowball fight in a couple times between boughts of sickness).

First, I want to say thank you very much from the bottom, middle, and top of my heart for following along on my author journey—whether you've been around for years or if this is your first newsletter from me.

It's a little crazy to me that I write some words every month about what I'm up to and send them out and a bunch of people out there receive those words, and sometimes they open the message, and sometimes some of them read all the way through my endless commenting about movies and shows and the trials of the modern independent author of speculative fiction.

So, again, thank you. Very much.

And to all of you who have bought my books and/or left reviews, you are in a very special class of people and I appreciate you so much! May all your support for me and other authors return to you ten-fold.

Second, if anyone has not read my SKYTRAILS series and wants to give it a go, I have two bits of news to help you out—

• Until December 24th, all 3 SKYTRAILS ebooks are on sale on Amazon for $0.99 in the U.S. or £0.99 in the U.K. (The other Amazon regions don't have the option for special promotions, so sorry if that's you.)
• The entire first book of the series, Spirits Of The Brinaatii, is on Youtube as single-chapter videos. They are on a Youtube playlist to hopefully make it easier to play all the way through. (A single long video for the whole book should hopefully be coming soon, as well as chapters for book two.)

I wanted to run the same sale at the same time for Greysuits, but I was not able to start it right away. So from January 17 to January 24, Greysuits will be $0.99 or £0.99 too.

Into & Up To

As far as what I've been into since last month, it's basically all the same stuff.

Oh, except I've been playing an old version of World Of Warcraft on a private server with some friends and that has been fun to get back into after years and years away. Mostly it's just fun to have something to do online with friends who live far away. I feel like the opportunity for fun, easy access, multiplayer games with friends is ripe for the plunder.

Also, I've been working on a manifesto.

I may say more about it at some point, but I think now more than ever, people —in my country, at least—need to figure out what exactly we believe in, and why, and what kind of society we want to be. So that's what I'm trying to put into words with AI assistance.

Also, I'm experimenting with AI-assisted video game design and development. Who knows if it will go anywhere, but it's fun.

This is probably the last you'll hear from me this year.
